LEAP-FAST Edition III launches with 106 Leaders from 20 Countries

The launch focused on a gap that many universities now face. Most have committed to sustainability, but fewer can show what that commitment has changed.

"The more important question is not whether universities are committed to sustainability. Many of us already are," said Dr Angelo Jimenez, President of the University of the Philippines. "The more important question is, what does that commitment change?"

Dr Majed Al-Solamy, who leads university performance measurement at Saudi Arabia's Council of University Affairs, warned that "activity is not always evidence of transformation". He said universities should look for change at three levels: decisions such as budget allocation, practice in teaching and research, and outcomes for graduates. Sustainability, he argued, should go through the same reporting and review cycle as every other area of performance.
